The Quick Facts about Upper Back Lift
Length of Upper Back Lift Procedure: 2 - 3 Hours
Anesthesia: General
In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient
Many women have experienced upper back rolls that create an unflattering appearance when wearing a bra. Commonly referred to as “bra fat,” back fat usually appears above and below the bra line helping to contribute to uneven contours.
A bra line back lift is a body contouring procedure that corrects loose, sagging skin or fat rolls on the upper and middle back. Dr. Gillespie often combines a bra line back lift with liposuction to produce even better contouring results. Show Off Your Back With Confidence
Diet and exercise are not always able to target the specific areas you want to address. A bra line back lift can help remove excess fat along the bra line, leaving you with a tighter, and more toned back. A bra line back lift is an ideal treatment for women because it can restore their confidence by doing the following:
• Contour and rejuvenate the upper back
• Remove excessive tissue that roles over the bra strap
• Create a smooth and uniform contour to the upper and lower back
The Bra Line Back Lift Procedure
A bra line back lift is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made across the target area giving access to the excess skin and tissue. If needed or desired, liposuction will be utilized during surgery to remove any fatty bulges. By combining liposuction with a back lift, it helps to improve the final shape and contour. Finally, excess skin will be excised with the remaining skin being pulled taut to smooth out the region. The incision will be sutured shut with special care that any scars will be hidden beneath the bra or bathing suit.
Recovery – Compression garments should be worn to aid in shaping your new torso following surgery, and strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks. The results are often dramatic as the upper back is contoured allowing patients to wear a bra without excessive bulging.
